In artist Tamara de Lempicka’s (1898-1980) work aptly name The Sleeping Girl, a young woman with a cropped blonde Bob and bright red lips, rests against her arms in quiet slumber. The original work was completed in oil on wood panel in 1930. Besides portraits, Lempicka also painted figure studies, nudes, still lifes, urban scenes, and religious figures.
